With your vocational training completed, your career as a specialist in media and information services is far from over. In fact it is just beginning. You have a wide range of training and specialisation options to choose from. The profession is changing, and you have the opportunity to actively shape it.
You are unique – and that’s exactly how your professional training should also be. We do not just focus on training in general but on your particular training. You come with your background, your strengths, and new ideas, and we look forward to that.
In the HSU library, we usually only employ a maximum of two trainees at the same time. This allows us to provide you with individual support and devote our full attention to you. This gives you and us a lot of flexibility when it comes to shaping your professional career:
We believe that practical orientation and a holistic approach form the basis of practical training as a media and information services specialist. With us, you will get to know the library system from up close and will actively praticipate in shaping the changes that are currently taking place in the library world. We would like to work together with you to nurture your talents so that your professional life can get off to a good start.
During you training as a media and information services specialist, you will be involved several times in all the (task) areas of the HSU library. This will allow you to fully experience the everyday routine, tasks, and challenges of the profession.
We believe that holistic training also involves doing project work on your own responsibility, training units on main (current) topics, and practical training in other areas of the library and information landscape.
In addition to building expertise, we place great emphasis on developing personal skills. You just bring yourself and your individual personality – and we develop together. The wish to nurture our trainees’ talents lies very close to our hearts.
We offer you:
