→ Final examination (theoretical and practical part) to become a state-recognised specialist for media and information services (FaMI)
To enable you to become familiar with the media and information services specialist profession away from your own library, the training entails several internships.

Training remuneration is determined on the basis of the Public Service Collective Bargaining Agreement for Trainees (TVAöD). The amounts shown refer to a monathly gross salary (As of: 03/2024)
1st year of training: 1.218,26 €
2nd year of training: 1.268,20 €
3rd year of training: 1.314,02 €

With your vocational training completed, your career as a specialist in media and information services is far from over. In fact it is just beginning. You have a wide range of training and specialisation options to choose from. The profession is changing, and you have the opportunity to actively shape it.
You are unique – and that’s exactly how your professional training should also be. We do not just focus on training in general but on your particular training. You come with your background, your strengths, and new ideas, and we look forward to that.
In the HSU library, we usually only employ a maximum of two trainees at the same time. This allows us to provide you with individual support and devote our full attention to you. This gives you and us a lot of flexibility when it comes to shaping your professional career:
Praxisnähe und Ganzheitlichkeit sind für uns die Basis der praktischen FaMI-Ausbildung. Bei uns lernst Du das System Bibliothek aus nächster Nähe kennen und gestaltest den aktuellen Wandel in der Bibliothekswelt aktiv mit. Wir möchten gemeinsam mit Dir Deine Talente fördern, damit Du im Berufsleben durchstarten kannst.
Während der FaMI-Ausbildung werden alle (Aufgaben-)Bereiche der HSU-Bibliothek mehrfach durchlaufen, um den Alltag, die Aufgaben und die Herausforderungen des Berufs ganzheitlich zu erfahren.
Auch eigenverantwortliche Projektarbeit, Ausbildungseinheiten zu (aktuellen) Schwerpunktthemen und Praktika in anderen Bereichen der Bibliotheks- und Informationslandschaft gehören für uns zur ganzheitlichen Ausbildung dazu.
Neben dem Aufbau von Fachkenntnis legen wir viel Wert auf die Weiterentwicklung persönlicher Kompetenzen. Du bringst Dich und Deine Individualität mit – wir entwickeln uns gemeinsam. Die Talente unserer Auszubildenden zu fördern, liegt uns sehr am Herzen.
