Literature management

Keep track of the literature you have researched and manage it with programmes such as Citavi or Zotero.

With a literature management programme, you can:

  • save and structure references and text passages that you wish to remember or quote in your work.
  • work collaboratively: Share sources with others or manage collections together.
  • insert lists of references and a complete bibliography automatically while you are writing your text.
  • receive support will all the stages of your scientific work, whether you are writing a seminar paper, a thesis, an academic publication, your dissertation, or a treatise.

A reliable literature management programme is an important tool for study, research and teaching. Which program is best suited for your application depends on various factors such as how you work, the technical environment, or individual preferences. We regularly offer Citavi and Zotero courses. Both programmes provide you with effective assistance when collecting, organising, and citing sources, but they differ in terms of focus and use.

Citavi offers many functions, especialley in the field of knowledge organisation. This means that it is particularly suitable for large-scale projects for which you want to manage sources, notes and your own ideas in a structured manner. However, the numerous options it offers can make it more difficult to get started.

Zotero focuses more on classical literature management and quoting. This makes it easier to get started and means that the programme is ideal for users who are looking for a flexible, platform-independent, and easy-to-use solution.
